This is my first attempt at patchwork (happened to be for a forest fan, but you can turn that side over).

getting well into ceramics

I think Ceramic work and clothing have a lot in common in their capacity to carry a strong sense of narrative and human histories. Also the same polemic of functionality vs. decoration, display and the need to commemorate, gets applied to both.

The Ceramic and Glass department at the RCA show actually excited me more than any other design discipline, in particular Malene Hartmann Rasmussen's sculpture. Francis Upritchard's exhibition at Kate McGarry was equally refreshing. Beautiful harlequin-like rainbow men dressed in hand painted cloaks. Making this stuff from mud is like alchemy.
